Lars Brovil
President

Dear friends of boxing,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the U19 European Boxing Championships, taking place this year in the Czech Republic.

Earlier this year, we had the honor of hosting both the inaugural European Boxing Congress and the widely attended Grand Prix Challenge World Boxing here in our country.

The last time the European Championships were held in the Czech Republic was back in 1990, in Ústí nad Labem, where I personally won a bronze medal. Now, many years later, I am proud to serve as President of the Czech Boxing Association, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.

We are excited to welcome you to Ostrava, an industrial city with a rich history and a vibrant present. The modern sports venue at Černá Louka offers excellent conditions for top-level performances, fair competition, and unforgettable moments for both athletes and fans.

I wish all participants great success, fair and thrilling bouts, coaches satisfaction with their teams, and spectators powerful sporting emotions.

We hope you will leave with lasting memories — not only of the championship, but of the warm hospitality of the Czech Republic.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Ostrava!

Kind regards,

Marek Šimák
President of the Czech Boxing Association

Organiser

The organizer of the competition is the Czech Boxing Association z.s. (CBA), which is the only state-recognized organization in the Czech Republic representing Olympic boxing. The CBA was founded in 1925 and celebrates this year 100 years since its foundation.

In 1990, it hosted the Czechoslovak Junior Championships in Ústí nad Labem.

After 30 years, the hosting of this championship for Olympic hopefuls is now returning to the Czech Republic and the city of Ostrava.

The CBA is a traditional boxing country with Olympic medalists from the common Czechoslovakia. Jan Heřmánek, Ján Franek, Josef Němec, Bohumil Němeček, Július Torma, Rudolf Kraj and Ján Zachara are medalists and role models for today‘s youth.

The CBA is a member of WORLD BOXING, being one of the first countries to join this organization. At the same time it is a member of EUROPEAN BOXING, having prepared and organized the founding congress of this organization.

CBA has always defended, is defending and will fight for the idea of Olympic boxing. According to the contract recognized by the state, the tournament is organized by Boxing Ostrava, z.s.
